Insurance Distribution Directive: The first round of changes

Seminar

June 13, 2017

Please join Norton Rose Fulbright for an insight into the first round of changes proposed to implement the Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) and what this means for the insurance industry.

The IDD will make changes to the rules applicable to almost every intermediary involved in the distribution of insurance, regardless of whether or not they have any contact with the end customer. Insurers and distributors will need to reassess their commercial terms and the disclosures made to customers. This seminar will look at the issues on which the FCA is consulting, with a focus on non-life insurance.

Programme

We will look at key changes, implementation challenges and some of the most relevant issues facing firms at the moment. Topics will include key changes as a result of the IDD, namely:

  • Authorisation
  • Customer's best interest rule
  • Status disclosure
  • Remuneration
  • Product governance
  • Product disclosure - IPID
